Any American Idol fans among us?

I've been watching the show since the second season and have loved each one, though I'm only a "casual watcher" during the first few shows of each season. You know, those episodes that go from city to city? Most of those auditions are just too painful to watch (for obvious reasons), and they rarely show many of the really great singers. Then down the line they show you those audition clips of the really good ones anyway. But when we're to the final twenty four, then to the twelve, I'm all over it!

My favorites this season are Carly Smithson (oh wow, can that girl sing! And is there any genre she can't sing!?)... Brooke White (reminds of me of Carly Simon in younger days, so rich and soulful)... Jason Castro (pure voice and so unique)... and then of course David Archuleta (so young and so talented, even if he did forget some of his words)...

So, are there any other AI watchers among us? If yes, who are your favorites?

  1. Yep! Jason Castro is my favorite. Of course, I'm biased because he went to Texas A&M, my alma mater. He's got a couple hundred thousand Aggies out there voting for him. There are Aggie groups in Facebook dedicated just to support him. Trust me-he'll be around for a long, long time.

  2. Tamera, I love American Idol! In fact, right now, the only two TV shows I watch on a regular basis are "American Idol" and "Lost"!

My favorites are David Archuleta, Carly Smithson, Brooke White and Jason Castro...but I'd be sorry to lose Michael Johns and Syesha Mercado.

Larrie, I think it's cool that A and M is supporting Jason. He's my daughter's favorite.

Brooke White has just an appealing personality as well as a beautiful voice.

  3. Hey Larrie, LOVE that Jason has all those Aggie fans. Wonderful! And that story he told about his dreadlock falling off while on a date. LOL!

Cindy, you and I are in sync. FWIW, I think we have yet to see what Michael Johns is really capable of. And that Syesha, well...she's just a doll!

So, I guess I know what we'll all be watching tonight... :)

  4. I like Chikezie, David Cook and Archuleta, and Brooke.

Truthfully, I like a lot of them this year, though, so that makes it fun!

  5. We love American Idol at my house. I agree with your favorites except I really wish he would get rid of the dreads. And I like Michael Johns too.

  6. Tamera, we haven't been following AI regularly in a few seasons now--it's fun and a bit addictive when we do watch!

  7. You're right, Amy. They're all quite talented this year and fun to watch.

Brittanie, I had to laugh at your dreadlock comment. I just always wonder (as I'm watching him sometimes), how long has it been since he's washed them. LOL!

And come on, flchen1, you have to join us again for this season! ;)

  8. I have been watching since the first season, absolutely love American Idol! This season I really like Chikezie and Carly. That's some tattoo she has!

  9. I am another huhe AI fan. My favorites are Brook White, Carly Smithson, David Archuleta and David Cook. How awesome are all the singers this year? Good stuff!

  10. I know you wrote this a while back, but I can't help but reply. Those are my exact favorites and can you believe that Carly was in the bottom 3 this week? Ouch.

  11. hey kelly, yes, Carly's tattoo is "something!" I actually think it's lovely. I don't have any myself--I'm not a big fan of needles, therefore that kinda rules out tattoos in my future, except the "rub on" ones--but it somehow fits her persona. And of course, love that accent.

the daily b--we're tracking on our favs. I also love Jason. In fact, I've downloaded his Hallelujah from iTunes and have listened to it repeatedly this week. Also got Carly's Blackbird (oh. loved that!!), and Brooke's Let it Be, and also David Archeleta's Long and Winding Road.

And paula, I couldn't BELIEVE she was in the bottom 3. Ack! I only voted three or four times for her last week. Was rushed, writing like crazy and just didn't take the time. Needless to say, I'll do BETTER next time! ;)
