Mom's safely home

My sweet mom, June, went home this morning and is now in the presence of Christ, whole and free of cancer and delighting in His perfect love. We look forward to joining her one day soon.

I appreciate your loving prayers and support during her illness and in the past few days of her being at home in "her sunroom." My dad, older brother, and I were by her bedside this morning when she breathed her last, and we know with certainty that she's now basking in the Light of Life.

More later, but for now...grace and peace. And my thanks.

  1. What a blessing that you were able to be with your Mom during her last few days here. I know you will miss her so much, beyond what words can say. You always had so many wonderful, respectful things to say about her. You always described her as a beautiful person, inside and out. It sounds like you had an amazing relationship with your Mom. How incredible to think that she is now in the presence of Christ - walking and talking with him right now. She's able to ask all the questions she's longed to ask, and get answers while standing in front of Him!

We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

  2. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. (Psalm 116:15)

Grieving with you. Rejoicing that your mom is whole again. Praying strength and comfort in the days ahead.

  3. Though I have never witnessed the loss of a loved one, my father stood at the bedside of my grandfather and stood watch with the Lord over him. He said it was the most profound thing he has ever done, I know you wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere eles. I am grieveing in your loss, especially for your children, I know the pain of losing a beloved grandparent. My heart goes out to you, I don't know quite how to comfort, except in the only way possible- with the Lord's love and prayer. Your mom looked to be such a sweet lady, good will come of this sorrow, though the glass may be too foggy to understand now, we will soon.

  9. Dear Tammy,
I posted on the Writes of Passage blog, but wanted to leave a note on here also. ~ Please know I am keeping you, your sweet Dad, your brother, and all of your family in my prayers.~ When my precious Mama went to Heaven four years ago, I was blessed to be with her, holding her hand. As much as I STILL miss her, it brings me much comfort and peace knowing she's with Jesus now, and we'll be together one day. What a joyous thought! ~ If sadness overwhelms you, just call out to the Lord - - He will give you the comfort you need.
    Much Love, Patti Jo
