AFTER ALL by Deborah Raney

I'm thrilled to share a hot-off-the-press copy of Deb Raney's newest novel with you!

As some of you might know, Deb and I have been writing critique partners for 10+ years now. We read each other's novels before we send them into our editors, offering suggestions and comments, and I'd hate to think of writing a novel without Deb's insightful perspective and suggestions on that first draft.

As fabulous an editor as Deb is, she's an equally talented writer. What a gift!
Here's a glimpse at Deb's newest novel, AFTER ALL, the third book in her Hanover Falls series:

Eighteen months after the tragic Grove Street Fire took the life of her husband and four other heroic firefighters, Susan Marlowe thinks she's finally beginning to heal. But then she discovers that David carried a secret to his grave--a secret that changes everything she thought about their marriage. For the sake of their sons, can Susan forgive the unforgivable?

Andrea Morley lost her closest friend in the fire. But she has no right to mourn him. Instead, she must forever grieve in silence--for someone else's husband.

Peter Brennan carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. As Hanover Falls fire chief, he was responsible for the brave firefighters who lost their lives that awful November night. Can he ever shake the feeling that he could have somehow prevented the tragedy? And now it seems he might find comfort in the arms of the woman he least expected.

Have you ever been involved in a fire? Either a house fire or when a business has suffered fire damage? Deb does a masterful job of taking readers to the heart of the story's struggle, while also lifting our eyes to the One who holds all the answers.

To win this copy of AFTER ALL, simply leave a comment on this blog post, and let me know if you've read one of Deb's books before!

And one last note...
Howard Publishing did such a beautiful job with the "inside art" of this book...

So pretty!

Leave a comment on this blog no later than Friday, April 27 at NOON (Central time). I'll draw the winner and post their name at 1PM on this blog that day!

  14. Excellent post of Deborah's new book! My family and I were victims of a fire. Perhaps that's part of what prompted my son to become a firefighter! Would love to win a copy of the new book!

And thanks to all of you who've read my books in the past or hope to in the future! Can't wait to see who wins! : )

  29. I'd love to win the book, it looks very interesting. As for reading anything by this author, not only have I not read any, I've never heard of her to my knowledge.
I've been terrified of fire since 1965 when one of my sister's high school classmates was severely burned when her nightgown caught fire from and open flame space heater. I'm so glad those things no longer exist, or at least I don't think they do.

  39. Like Tammy said, the interior design on this book is beautiful. I was so pleased when I saw it in the first book, and when they continued using the "swirly" design in the rest of the series.

It's always a little sad when a series comes to an end. After living with the characters for over 2 years while I wrote the 3-book series, they almost start to feel like real friends!

Thanks again for all the encouraging words and interest in the Hanover Falls Novels!

  52. Wow...lots of comments! : ) I don't think I've ever read one of Deb's books but I would love to start! Praise the Lord, we haven't been directly affected by a fire, but some friends of ours had their house and all their belongings burn a few years ago. I'd never thought about all you lose in a fire and how devastating it is. It was neat, though, to see our church family pull together and help them recover. Looking forward to seeing who the book winner will be! I love book giveaways! : ) Blessings~Stacey
