The Lovin' Oven Bakery

What a treat! For woman AND dog!

I saw a tweet from friend and author Angie Hunt today and followed the trail! And this is where I ended up...

The Lovin' Oven Bakery

Angie's initial post kicked off a wonderful adventure in baking, and I love to bake so this is right up my alley. If you love to bake too (or just love to dish on baking), join us over at The Lovin' Oven Bakery.

Back to writing! And to my utter shock...my heroine suddenly has an urge to whip up something in the kitchen!

I'm posting today over at Writes of Passage too, and I'm blaming everything on the caffeine. Join us!

  1. Mmmmm....I'll have to check that out! When I get a chance (and I'll have to add--the motivation) I love to bake. My little girl loves to help me in the kitchen, too. Maybe we'll find some fun new recipes there! Thanks!

  2. LOL at the motivation comment, Stacey, and I remember those days in the kitchen with a young daughter. I recall a specific day when Kelsey (who's now 24) got into something she shouldn't have...

I'd made a chocolate bundt cake, was letting it cool, only to come back in a while later to find her standing on a stool EATING IT! Just whole chunks, right outta the side of the cake!

If I can find the picture of it, I'll post. I laugh now. And come to think of it, I laughed by that evening too. After all, it's not life and death. It was just a cake.

  3. I can totally relate to that! lol That's a cute story, but also a great reminder to let go of the little things. Sophie loves to try and taste the butter, the batter, everything. I have to shoo her away sometimes and tell her to save some : ).
Every time Sophie hears that I'm cooking, she starts saying..."Can I help, can I help?" while she's dragging a dining room chair into the kitchen. My first thought is...oh, I can do it really fast by myself. But then I see the hopeful look on her little face and remind myself that this is what memories and family bonds are made of. I never regret saying yes. I'm sure Kelsey has lots of fun memories like that, too ; ).

Checked out Angie's baking blog. Loved the baseball cupcakes esp since the Texas Rangers just made it to the playoffs . Posted a recipe for red velvet cupcakes on my blog "inside Story" today at www.dorothylovebooks.com A Southern tradition.
